Hi Everyone,
It is me, Scott Fairfield and our foundation, Helping Hearts for Friends has been contacted by some friends of a 9 year old girl named Maya. Maya's grandparents live and work in Orange County and while Maya and her parents were here visiting Maya became ill. After not felling well for a while, Maya went to the doctor here in Orange County were she was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Maya is not doing very well, she is currently at CHOC Hospital and her family could really use our help. Please take the time to read Maya's story that was emailed to me by Maya's Grandfather. (see attachments) Maya has been battling this awful disease and undergoing chemo, radiation and other forms of treatment for the past 18 months, but the news is not good. Maya and her family have just learned that the cancer is in 100% of her bone marrow. Our foundation, Helping Hearts for Friends is going to help Maya and her family during this trying time, and we need everyone's' help. Due to the fact that Maya's condition is so serious, we need to act fast. I am not sure we have enough time to organize a large scale event to raise money for Maya. Because we need to act fast, I am initiating an email campaign in an attempt to raise as much money as possible, as fast as we can, to help pay for Maya's medications, doctor/hospital bills and other family bills that have piled up as a result of this terrible illness. If you can find it in your heart, and if you are in a position to offer assistance, please make out a check to "Helping Hearts For Friends" and place "Maya" in the memo portion of the check. The checks can be sent to the following address: Helping Hearts For Friends For those who would like to donate by credit card, you can go to our website and click on the Donate tab. Thank you in advance for making a difference. Respectfully, Scott Fairfield President - Helping Hearts for Friends, Inc. |
