WHAT: Helping Hearts for Friends invites you to attend the 4th annual Donna Logan Dinner Social / Fundraiser benefiting Natalie Biagi and Rod Hoover.

WHO:

Rod Hoover - Rod was injured during a dirt bike riding accident.  During the very first ride of the day on April 2nd, Rod went riding with his son and two friends.  Then tragedy occurred.  Rod was thrown from his bike and hit the ground so hard that after being air lifted from the site, he suffered life threatening injuries.  He was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, California where he underwent immediate surgery.  The injuries were so severe that the doctors were not to hopeful he would survive.

The Dr’s took bone and cadaver bone to attempt to rebuild Rod’s neck.  He shattered his C2 through C5 vertebras.  He separated his spinal cord and fractured his lower back.  A Halo was put into place and that is how he lives.    After being released from Lancaster, he was sent back into his medical network here in Orange County.  He is home and has health care provided in house.  He sleeps in a medical chair in an upright position.  He has a long road ahead.

Natalie Biagi - 2 ½-year-old Natalie was admitted to "CHOC" (a Children's Hospital in Orange, California) after her skin looked and felt very different than it usually does.  The doctors at CHOC did lots of tests, and found out that Natalie is very sick.  She doesn't look really sick right now, and she doesn't sound really sick, but her body has a very bad sickness growing in it.

Little Natalie needs to stay in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and the doctors need to use some very powerful medicines to make her better.  Then they need to have us bring her back to the hospital for special medicine lots and lots of times over the next 2 years  (not to stay in the hospital then, just to get the medicine).  Then we need to make sure the sickness doesn't come back for years and years after that.  The doctors tell us that Nat is responding well to the medicines so far, and that they are very confident that one day she will be cured, healthy, and READY TO GET BACK ONSTAGE DANCING with us!
